HELPFUL TIPS
When buying groceries, choose fruits and vegetables over foods high in sugar and fat. Take your child with you. Explain the benefits of each food you select.
Limit sodas and sweetened beverages.
Always have healthy snacks on hand.
Shy away from processed foods.
Sit down together for family meals. Make it a time to share news and tell stories.
Limit recreational television and computer time.
Consider SHAKE-IT-UP activities as a team or family event. Swimming, hiking, cycling, basketball, walking, etc.
are not only fun but, wonderful ways to connect to one another.
